Art in Architecture

Art in Architecture, a community service program of the Florida Real Estate Foundation, provides affordable and attractive housing in Central Florida.

Designed by different local American Institute of Architect member architects and built by members of the Home Builders Association of Metro Orlando, the homes are marketed by members of the Orlando Regional Realtor Association. These services are offered at steeply reduced rates to keep the home prices within affordable limits.

The homes built by the Art in Architecture program are designed to be architecturally aesthetic, yet economically viable, alternatives to the standard concrete block "box" home. The homes are financed by participating local lenders and sold to income-qualified buyers using down-payment assistance programs offered by local governments and the Florida Housing Finance Corporation.

Two projects have been completed in the past two years, including the Holden Heights Project, which is located in unincorporated Orange County, and the Canton Park Redevelopment initiative in Winter Park.

The Holden Heights townhouse project will break ground later this fall on six - ten townhouses.  They will range in size from 1,500 - 2,000 sq.  ft. and are expected to e priced from $165,000-$200,000 each.
